La Maison de Lydie – Swift Lodge B&B
Bed and breakfast with a fly fishing atmosphere in the heart of the Monts de Arrée and the Armorique Regional Nature Park
Nothing could be more natural than to accommodate my trainees and students to enable them to extend their day(s) of introductory or advanced guiding in a real fly fishing atmosphere, in the heart of the guiding territories
You will be able to stay in the heart of the fly fishing HQ in North Brittany, whether you are there, guiding or on your own, to stalk wild trout in rivers, lakes or sea bass on the coast.
In order to welcome my trainees and clients, but also all those, fly fishermen or not, who wish to discover our beautiful region of Finistère, we have set up three comfortable guest rooms in our pretty neo-Breton house, located opposite the crests of the Monts d’Arrée.
La Maison de Lydie – Swift Lodge allows you to combine a fly fishing holiday with a family holiday, with your partner, your children and/or your friends.
While one person is fishing, the other can enjoy the many tourist possibilities in the area.
We can accommodate up to 6 people in three rooms.
My wife, Lydie, manages this part of our business and we work in harmony to make your stay an unforgettable one.
Lydie has a natural sense of welcome. A nature lover, she will be able to inform you about the local flora and fauna and direct you to all the outdoor activities available around us: hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, heritage tourism, swimming, etc.
A keen and avid horse rider, she happily welcomes riders and can provide several paddocks in the garden.
The house
The hamlet of Toulloulan is located outside the village of Commana (2 min from the church square, 1.2 km), facing the emblematic ridges of the Monts d’Arrée.
The house has direct access to several hiking trails in the mountains (towards the peaks) and the surrounding countryside.
We welcome you all year round in our beautiful neo-Breton house, which is not overlooked and has a garden with trees and flowers.
It is an original construction with an apotheosis inspired by weavers’ houses.
The roof is made of local mountain slate.

An upright piano, an aquarium, a naturalist library, a wood-burning stove and a bar area complete the layout.
The terrace, facing the mountain, allows for relaxation.
Special facilities for fly fishermen
In the lounge, a fly-tying table allows initiation sessions (on reservation) and for anglers to extend the day of fishing with the vice.
A wide range of French and foreign magazines is available to our guests.
On the first floor, a specialised library (available on request) contains a wide range of books on fly fishing in fresh and salt water, in French, English and German.
There is everything from the best authors on the subject: technical books about saltwater, rivers, lakes and reservoirs, predatory, migratory salmonids fly fishing, fly tying, travel and destinations, fish biology, art books, more than 800 books in total.
Enough to keep you busy in the evenings, outside of the evening hatch, in the lounge or in your room.
A dedicated space in the basement allows you to change and dry your waders.
Finally, I have launched an online fly fishing shop www.brittanyflyshop.com
I am of course available for my trainee guests who wish to make purchases on site: flies, tippet material, lines, accessories, the choice is vast.
It is also possible to try the range of my custom Brittany Fly Fishing rods, as well as the Guideline rods for which I am an official dealer.
If you wish to anticipate, you can order online and select collection at the shop (on site). Your order will be waiting for you when you arrive.
