FISH SPECIES, FLY FISHING TECHNIQUES AND BEST SEASONS

FRESHWATER

  • Remote and untouched streams and rivers in the heart of wild Brittany for wild native brown trout. Wet fly, dry fly & upstream nymph fishing. Wading.
    Best season: mid-May to mid-September.

  • Lower reaches of rivers for sea-run Allis shad (Alosa alosa). Single hand/double hand fly rods. Potential IGFA freshwater fly rod world records.
    Main run: mid-April to mid-May.
These rivers also have Atlantic salmon and sea-run brown trout migrations.

  • Arrée Mounts lakes: boat fishing (19 ft Sheelin traditional Irish lake boat powered with SW Riptide Minn Kota trolling motor & push pole for shallower areas)
    - Rainbow trout & brown trout: loch style (drift) fly-fishing: wet fly, dry fly and streamer fishing.
    - Native Northern Pike: Fly fishing with pike streamers & surface fly lures.
  • Best period (trout & pike): from mid-May onwards (lake season closes December 31).

    SALTWATER

Local estuaries (wading & boat), rocky shores and beaches for European Sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax). Fly-fishing with lightweight tackle and natural preys imitations: shrimps, prawns, crabs, baitfish, etc. Potential IGFA saltwater fly rod world records.
Best season: from mid-June until mid-November.

Also available, general sea angling (spinning with lures, bottom jigging) for Pollack, Sea bass and other species.

    OUR CLIENTS

Individuals, couples, families, group of friends and corporate, we specialize in custom tuition and trips. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced fly fisherman, whether you prefer salt or freshwater, we’ll build our programs according to your profile, needs, tastes and goals.

    TACKLE

You’re very welcome to bring your own tackle and equipment and we can advise you to any prior investment (tackle, flies, clothing) before fishing with us. If you’re travelling to Europe and France with you beloved wife and/or husband and just take a few days fly fishing break with us, you might not want to bother bringing all your fly fishing stuff to cover it all (trout, sea-bass, shad, etc.). No worries: we can provide everything you’ll need to catch fish and feel comfortable on the water: tackle, flies, clothing. Just let us know when booking your trip.

    ACCOMMODATION

Typical very high standard country style B&B accommodation (we offer 5 selected charming locations). Owners all speak English.
***Hotels with sea views in Finistère and Côtes d’Armor.
